It's tough as they seem to want to do their own thing and march to their own drum beat. It is easier to train a dog. But repetition seem to work with a cat and holding it up so you are face to face and then talk to it , repeating short commands for 3 or 4 times. Do this for a couple of days and see what happens. For naughty behavior a simple loud NO and then a light tap on the nose when it is doing the misbehavior. Mine has adjusted for the most part, eats what I feed him, sleeps next to my feet, plays with his toys daily, uses the litter box so what more could one ask. Except he likes to tease my cockateil.
